Chernakova was born in Ekaterinburg (Russia) in 1990. In 2017 she completed her MA from the Royal College of Art (London, UK). She currently spends her time between her studio in Milan; Pietrasanta, where the artist engages with marble carving; and Murano for the realization of her glass projects.
Chernakova is a multi-media artist, whose practice’s main concerns are motifs of longing, nostalgia, slipping objectivity and ephemerality of being. The impossibility of fulfilling desires and obsessions underpins art as an activity. The artist moves freely between classical materials and technics, blending them together with the preoccupations of contemporary society.
